The Hold is Off

I know it was a very short hold on blogging but after a few days I realized I missed it too much. And I realized that I would miss being linked with all of you. Thank you for your kind comments, I greatly appreciate them.

It didn't take long to realize that two of the three ingredients for a blog based around riding weren't going away. From the time I was about 10 years old I've enjoyed taking pictures and now I also really like to ride. I thank God for both of those blessings. The third ingredient is writing, and that for me has been the one I seem to struggle with. So with that in mind, I think I'll just post a little less often and write less.

But here's the crazy part. I've started another blog that I invite you to check out. It's called My Digital Worldview.  "Been Riding & Thinking About..." will continue to have a lean towards riding (sorry for the pun), while "My Digital Worldview" will have images posted almost daily with my view of the world.

Please let me know what you think. I value your comments and look forward to following your blogs in 2010.  I wish you and your family the best for the coming new year.

Mike

Welcome Back from your short sabatical.

I too started my Blog to improve my writing skills, and I have also been doing photography for over 40 years, and I also like to ride. So I am your long lost "brother"

I set up my mission statement originally to incorporate photography and I don't think I am limited to just riding subjects. (Same as Key
    West Diary)
    .

I don't think I would have the time to fuel multiple projects, but of course we will visit "the other side"

somehow I knew you couldn't stay away. This is better than TV, plus look at all the friends you meet along the way

  2. Bob - you are "right-on" in your observations. It probably does seem a little weird to go from a hold due to lack of time to having two projects, but the photo part for me is the fun side of it and doesn't take a lot of time - as you well know.

Thanks for sticking with me long lost "brother"!

  3. lol...as all the blog-addicts chuckle...

I haven't always blogged, but I've sometimes journaled (the stone age way, with pen and paper). It can be a great way to mull things over and work it through. If I write it down I can get it out of my head and put it too rest.

lol - it's funny you start a second, photo-based blog. My blog is a compilation of three blogs I had. One for photography, one for motorcycles, and one for everything else. Then I got tired of trying to decide which photo went to which blog so I simplified, blended three into one.

My photo blog was a "picture a day" kind of thing to get me thinking about the photo...what do I like, what can I improve, and to get ideas from others for improvement. I still want all this...I just don't separate it out anymore :)

Looking forward to checking out your new blog. I love photography and getting a glimpse of how others view their world. Sorry for such a long comment. Not my usual style to be so dang chatty!

  4. bluekat-
You're not chatty at all - I appreciate the input and hearing about the evolution of your blog. I discovered yours a little over a month ago and really like what you do. I was also inspired by some of the blogs you have on your list and blogs on their lists. I guess that's part of what makes this blogging thing fun.

Keep up the good work I'm looking forward to what you have coming for the new year. Thanks for your comment!

  5. i just started following you and it feels like you never left ;-) I also enjoy photography and riding and recently decided to start a blog to blog about all my future trips in 2010. I am also addicted to others blogs and stories. Funny part is that I was/am considering a blog about a digital photo a day documenting things I see interesting. Keep up the good work, I enjoy reading.
