German Toy?

My wife sometimes refers to the Beemer as my toy. I don't consciously think of it as a toy. Sometimes I get slightly offended when she says that. To me it's a well tuned precision engineered German machine on two wheels that's a blast to ride. Well...I guess that makes it, ah...sort of a toy.

I tried a processing technique that bluekat used recently. Thank you bluekat.

  2. LOL - Toy's R us!

Good job on the photo! I like that the bike is mostly in shadow with just some nice touches of highlights.

That's why I commute, then it's not a toy, it's transportation. At least I keep telling myself that!

  3. Charlie6,
That's funny - I like that. Since you ride a lot I guess you're on quite a bit of prozac!

    bluekat,
Thank you. It proves my wifes point when I go for a ride just for the fun of it like this afternoon. I don't think I've ever done that in my car. Then I get busted on that "it's transportation" thing. :)

  6. Excuse me, but a German bike is meant to be a serious way of transportation, and not a toy. Having fun with it is an unwanted side effect. BMW has been working on that issue for years, but so far they haven't found a solution. Cheers, SonjaM

  7. That's good Sonja. I guess I should file a complaint. It's probably not covered under the warranty either. And the visor should stay down so no one sees a smile.

  8. Nice photo and bike. The "Toysrus" sign in color stands out perfectly on the photo. I recently sold one of my toys (my wife's words) but that is only because it's winter and I'm not riding it. I also have plans for a different kind of bike, err, toy ;-)

  9. George,
I have a Vespa that I plan on selling. 2010 will be an inventory reduction year. I'm interested in what kind of different bike you plan to get.

  10. It's not a toy if it makes its own motor noises. By the way, I'm trying to figure out which one that is. It looks like Tigard but I don't remember a parking structure nearby. Got me puzzled!

  11. It is Washington Square. There's a parking structure by Macy's but this one is at the other end by Nordstrom's and Sears. It's closer to the "field office".
