not to be critical, but couldn't you have used some fill flash, or brought some large studio lights to lighten the foreground and use PS to put in a red orb for the sun, or something . . . The photo looks a little "flat" .
It's funny, I have a Mac laptop that has PS on it and I do all the postings from that platform. The photos look so much different on the Mac than when I look at them on my old desktop PC. You're right, it does look flat and dark. Fill flash would have been good on this shot but I rarely think to use a flash on anything. The times I have used it when the bike is in the frame I usually get a glare off one of the reflectors which ends up bothering me. I tend to lean towards everything looking in it's natural state... in this case a dark foggy morning. I'll have to ponder it too.
for situations where you don't want glare, just use bounce flash, but you will need a really strong flash for this shot. actually flash with a polarizer should do it.
for some reason MAC's display more vibrant colours
I think it's a lovely photo. Now I'm just miffed that I didn't switch platforms at the last upgrade. So I don't want to hear about Macs!
lol-I did our bike club's website one summer when our webmaster was off touring. I had his little old IMAC next to my computer, and what a difference. I hated my monitor after that. His mac-based web software kinda sucked though. That made me feel better!
Kari: Thank you! I have come to prefer Macs over PC's. Our company is PC based. If it wasn't for that I wouldn't have one now. My desktop is getting old and slow so I recently got a Netbook just so I'd have something on which to do company stuff when the desktop crashes for good. There's always a dilemma - Ford/Chevy PC/Mac. :)
Bob: I posted the FJR thing last night then decided to dump it... the post that is, not the FJR. As part of that post I was going to start something new but changed my mind. When I get home later today (back to the Mac) I'll probably post it but in a different way. Thanks for noticing!

Thanks Bob. Pondering by the pond... I think it's a beginning to a poem.
