New Granddaughter!

Yesterday morning, by the grace of God, Abigail Marie came into the world.  She weighed 10 lbs. 4 oz and was 21-1/2" long.  She and our daughter are doing fine.  We're the proud grandparents for the sixth time.

  7. Mike:

You are being so humble. I was thinking of a long Academy Award speech . . .

and you don't even look that old . . .

  8. Why thank you Bob! You're very kind. I think you and I are about the same age (which is still young). ;)

Amber and I became grandparents at a relatively young age as our oldest daughter started her family early. As you know, grandkids are pretty special!

  9. Congrats. I hear grandparenting is better than parenting.

  10. motoroz,
Thank you for stopping by and your comment!

I think that's true about the comparison of parenting and grandparenting. People say grandparenting is nice because you get to send them home at the end of the day, but we see some of our grandkids almost everyday. We wouldn't want it any other way either. :)

  13. How did I miss this earlier? How wonderful! I say that having a new appreciation for grandchildren. :)

Just yesterday I was sitting on the floor and Ryan was crawling all over me. I was picturing having several grandchildren mauling me. And now I read that you can live that reality.

Children are truly a gift from God, aren't they?

  14. Grandchildren are very special, we really enjoy them! Amen to that... our children and grandchildren are gifts from God! Almost 40 years ago Amber and I had no concept of the thankfulness we have now.

I hope Ryan is the first of many grandchildren for you both!
